Dumont Clogged Pipe Dumps Water Damage in Basement Floor
A clog in a pipe spilled a large amount of sewage-tainted water damage in this Dumont basement. The glue-down tile delaminated rapidly. Due to the seepage under the tile and the amount that wicked into the finished basement walls, the loss area required some controlled-demolition actions such as removing the tiles and cutting away the lower wall portion that had contamination from the water. Once the substrate got exposed, the technicians used air scrubbers to capture water vapor droplets with biological elements present and used their professional air movers and dehumidifiers to dry the loss area. Afterward, the basement got wiped down with antibacterial and antimicrobial cleaning agents to ready the work-site for repairs.
