Toilet Overflow Causes Water Damage in Westwood Home
This children’s play area had medium-severe water damage in this Westwood home from a toilet overflow. The carpet and numerous toys were in the path of the water. SERVPRO technicians scoped the property and found the loss area extended under the carpet to the subfloor. Because carpet with exposure to this type of water has no restoration potential, it requires removal and disposal as a biohazard. The techs mapped out the water migration path and only removed the necessary area of the carpet for drying purposes. The children’s toys were placed outside the worksite and inspected for cleaning and disinfection through methods such as immersion cleaning, so they could be enjoyed by the kids once again.
