Westwood Water Damage Cleanup Job Includes Sewage
A pipe break in this Westwood home resulted in gallons of sewage-tainted water damage affecting one level of the property. SERVPRO technicians used their moisture detection equipment to determine the migration path of the water. The techs found that wicking occurred in much of the sheetrock lining the hallway. Fortunately for this homeowner, no seepage occurred underneath the white tile floor. However, the wood floorboards at the end of the hallway as seen in the Before Photo required removal to dry the substrate underneath. The After Photo shows the technicians have removed the sheetrock and baseboards down one wall of the hallway, but only the damaged portion. To minimize the number of repairs to the structure due to the water damage, SERVPRO technicians only take off the lower portion of the sheetrock at the floor joint to just above the waterline.
