Park Ridge Water Damage Ruins Carpet and Walls
A finished basement in Park Ridge received a large amount of water damage and needed assistance from SERVPRO. The techs arrived to find that the water had wicked several inches into the sheetrock on the walls and seeped under the carpeting over the slab substrate. The techs extracted the water from the carpet to make it lighter to handle and removed it so the concrete slab underneath could get dried. The mirrored support in the center of the room needed to get stripped down so it could dry as water was behind the mirrored overlay. Using moisture detection equipment, the techs determined the waterline on the walls and cut away only the damaged portion to minimize the amount of repairs needed.
