The Impact of a Water Loss

Water damage can be a homeowner’s worst nightmare, as it can wreak havoc on a residential property and potentially have long-lasting consequences. The Initial Assessment

When faced with a water loss incident, the first crucial step is to assess the extent of the damage. Trained professionals from our water mitigation team will evaluate the affected area, determining the scope of the damage. This assessment helps create a plan of action to effectively mitigate the area.

Water Extraction

Once the assessment is completed and a plan of action has been created, mitigating the affected areas can begin with swift action and thorough water extraction. Industrial-grade pumps and specialized equipment will be utilized to remove standing water from the property. Quick action is crucial to prevent further damage, such as structural weakening and mold growth. Mold growth can also be present before water extraction has begun, depending on the date the loss event happened.

Drying & Dehumidification

Once the excess water is removed, the focus shifts to drying the affected areas. Powerful dehumidifiers and air movers are strategically placed by our technicians in order to remove moisture in the air and prevent mold growth from occurring. This part of the process may take several days to ensure the affected area is dry. While the equipment is drying our technicians will stop by each day to take moisture readings until the area is dry enough to remove the equipment.

Mold Remediation

One of the most significant risks associated with water damage is the growth of mold. Moisture-laden environments provide ideal conditions for mold spores to thrive, leading to potential health hazards for occupants and further potential damage to the property. If the mold is visible to our technicians we will be able to mitigate the issue quickly, but if the mold is not visible and is believed to be present additional steps may need to be taken. If the mold isn’t visible an industrial hygienist needs to be called, then they will take air samples of the area believed to have mold present. Once the tests come back they will be negative or positive, if positive there is no need for mold mitigation, but if it is positive a protocol must be followed to mitigate the issue.
